How to refine your Vocie

Lots of people have started singing and are not sure what to do to improve. So I have some tips here to show you what to do with your voice.

What is unique?

What does your voice have that others don't? If you can hit opera notes easily try singing classical music or if you have a country voice play it up. Even screaming and whispering has been done by famous artists.

Try singing with other people

This is an easy way to get more creative with your vocal style and to see what tips other people can give you as well as constructive feedback. You could also apply for a musical or start busking in the subway if you really want to perform.

Consider taking vocal lessons

Vocals are just like any other instrument they take time and practice and it is much easier to be taught than to self teach yourself. If you are serious about singing taking lessons may be the way to go. You may find out you have a bigger range than you thought and an instructor will be able to help you find a good style to match with your voice.

Practice

To refine your voice you also need to practice and practice. Always try to sing songs inside your vocal range and try to improve. Try singing with only instrumentals and record yourself to see what you sound like and what you are doing well where you can improve etc. consider singing for friends or family if you are looking for feedback or want to show off what you can do.
